  • Gadgets: Blackberry Playbook 2.0 (Gift Set)

The team over at Blackberry invited me to their offices for a 1 on 1 session with a Blackberry Specialist to introduce me to all the new features of the Blackberry Playbook 2.0. ( what a great idea) A few of the new features got me really excited and I’ve laid them out for you incase you have a Playbook or you were planning on getting one. They were kind enough to give me a brand new Playbook with some really nice accessories, like this beautiful Want Les Essentiels de La Vie leather case with 2 tone zipper. The HDMI wire to connect my Playbook to my TV and a Blackberry Moleskin.
After the presentation I had a whole new outlook on the Playbook. A few advantages of the the Playbook is that you never really have to change it, they will continue to update the platform and the technology so you can hold onto the device for a longer period of time. Oh and look out for Blackberry 10 coming soon…

    BlackBerry Bridge
BlackBerry Bridge functionality that allows you to use your BlackBerry smartphone as a remote control for your PlayBook. Great for presentations or using your blackberry with your TV.

    All-New Built-In Functionality
Built-in email, calendar and contacts. Unique to BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, you can now manage all of your email accounts with a unified inbox, manage your schedule with new features like a People View of your day (which lets you quickly see everyone who is on your agenda for that day), and view your contacts as a social hub that contains information from popular social networks including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Social Integration in Calendar & Contacts
The built in calendar is designed to pull in the information that matters to you from your social networks and make it available where and when you need it. Contact cards are dynamically populated with the latest real-time information from your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts to create a consolidated view of your contacts most recent updates.

    Applications
The 2.0 update also now runs most of the Android applications. This will only get better with time.
