I used to rock DC’s hard back in the day because they were different than all the other kicks my peers were wearing at the time. I would pick them up from my homie Phil from Empire skate shop here in Montreal. I haven’t rocked much or any DC’s since then, but the Spring 09 collection is looking pretty dope. Here you have the first look at the Spring 2009 “Special Delivery” DC LIFE Special Project.

Peep the story

“Before we had I.M. or handhelds or even cell phones,
communication with footwear factories overseas was
handled one way: the mail. Not email… the mail.

Creative information was bundled up and shipped in
tight little packages, back and forth and back again until
the product was just right.

This back and forth venture of days-past has been told
through the materials and color stories on the Spring
2009 “Special Delivery” DC LIFE Special Project.

The shoes have been colored-up in traditional
Brown/Gold and White/Purple/Orange,
and TYVEK paper, the durable,
protective paper used for shipping bags,
is the key accent material.

Unwrap and enjoy! In stores now…”

I saw these shoes and flipped out, they’re not black, they’re brown. I’d rock them both, but I am really feeling the white.

  6. [...] DC presents as part of their Spring 2009 Life collection the “Special Delivery” pack. The pack consists of two sneakers, inspired by the old days of communication. The uppers feature Tyvek paper, the same durable paper used for shipping bags. The sneakers come in brown/gold and white/purple/silver and are now available at DC retailers. Via Marcus Troy. [...]
