Footwear: Common Projects Spring 2010
July 26th, 2010I’ve documented the hell out of Common projects over the years and you guys know I love them. I wanted to show you guys my favorites from the Spring 2010 season. If you are lucky you can find these on sale now because we are slowly creeping into fall season. The color combination and contrast makes this style really sexy. You can always count on CP to make a rich looking and rich feeling shoe that can be worn dressed up or very casual.
$470
Do you own a pair of CP’s? If you do please share your thoughts!

I’m definitely a fan of common projects, and having actually worn a pair of these I can say they are beautiful, but i couldn’t pull the trigger. mainly because, aside from the superior material and feel, they are still just too similar to the Vans Era for me to justify the 400$+. That being said, if i could find a pair at the right price, I might change my tune.
Also, I know you’ve seen the Artic Boot. What are your thoughts? I’m of the mind that if I could find a pair in 46, they’d be on their way to my place right now.
Common Projects is hands down my favorite brand and when they first came out, their line was so sleek with their minimalist designs and their carefully selected and curated models. The Achilles remains a staple and by far, in my opinion, optimizes the perfect sneaker.
However, its interpretations like these, matched with their increasingly sky rocketing prices that turns me off slightly. I personally feel they’re beginning to introduce new designs for the sake of keeping abreast with seasonal changes, which is what brands do anyway, but my point is that I wished they just stuck to a selected few classic pieces and put more emphasis on materials and subtle colors than on tweaking their classic designs.
While I do not entirely fancy their tweaks on their classics like the Achilles Raw, the Achilles high tops, and these Vans-inspired slips-ons, I think the Expedition and Arctic boots are right on the money. I feel their price, though steep, does justify the quality of their materials and the overall craftsmanship of their shoes except of course when they come up with versions like these slips-ons.
