I think I found my new favorite hotel in Toronto. The Thompson Hotel is really fresh. I had a few meetings in town and I was put up at the Thompson and I’ve been partying there ever since. If you are not a guest of the hotel they have a pretty amazing rooftop bar with an exquisite view. If you are going to be in Town during the OVO fest I suggest you make it a priority to stay there.

Ask for MIKE who manages the rooftop bar and tell him that Marcus Troy sent you. The wings are great, but I would pass on the calamari.

My driver told me the Setai was the best hotel on South Beach.

The customer service started the second I came through the door. They ask you to take a seat in the lounge and they bring you this amazing ice tea. Make sure you get the Ice Tea! You will be requesting it all day.

The rooms have a huge Japanese influence which is very cool.

A nice hand written card welcoming me to the property and complementary champagne truffles.

A few tips you should know about the hotel to help you navigate around.

1. The keys are  electronic and when you arrive to your room door, you might have a hard time finding the entry. There is a tiny circle that you should slide your key in front of to gain access to your room.

2. Your key only gives you access to your floor, so if you want to visit friends on other floors you might have to ask the front desk.

3. The buffet and the brunch is pretty incredible. You have flavors from all around the world. But the sunday brunch is about $97 a person and breakfast is about $45

4. If you ask for a late check out ,they might be able to accomodate you up until 4pm.

5. The room gets made over twice, at the times of your choosing. Every night they bring you a little snack like cookies or brownies to munch on.

I touched down in New York City a few weeks ago to work on the follow up to the Mavericks Projects. I was put up and the beautiful Soho Grand Hotel. (this is the view from my room)

When you check into the Soho Grand, they offer you a complimentary glass of Champagne, Rosé to be specific. What a great touch after a flight!

This is a picture of the first room I checked into. I got a nice email while I was at dinner informing me of an upgrade.

Being Monsieur Troy, sure has its perks.

I was greeted with this  delectable package.  Dalia & William Yan can attest to the great taste of these desserts.

It was such a great experience staying at the Soho Grand.

This is my second time staying at the Soho Grand and both times were great, the upgrade sure helped! You can also try their other property which is the Tribeca Grand which is also awesome. A special thanks to Ariel and shout out to Pia & Jeanie for the great accommodations.

My family at The Project Show put me up at TheHotel @ The Mandalay Bay. Yes the hotel is Called TheHotel (not to be confused with Mandalay Bay) This Hotel has no casinos which is a major bonus and the rooms are very sexy.

This hotel popped up about 9months ago and I have to say that the JW Marriott is such a beautiful hotel! The hotel is huge and full of life. Right across the street of the Staple center which is a huge bonus. The staff is very cool, polite and very accommodating.

The room is very spacious and the beds are comfortable. I hate that I always have to ask for tooth paste but that is another story. I love the size of the bathroom, sink and shower.

The restaurant food was not that great, I mean the burger I showed you guys yesterday was good but the buffet breakfast this morning was really left to be desired.

Style: New, Modern

Atmosphere: Live, Busy, Active

I spent a few days at Ink 48 and I have to say that I enjoyed the experience. My room was spacious for New York standards and the staff was very cool. I asked them to rush and dry clean my Burberry shirt and they made it happen before I could blink my eyes. The bathroom was huge and filled with a lot of towels which is always a preference.  I had a fantastic view of the city which was amazing. Apparently the rooftop of INK 48 is incredible but I did not get a chance to check it out. The location is on a river, near Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and Jacob Javits Convention Center but it is still worth the stay.

A couple weeks ago I spent some time in Dallas Texas during the Nike Football summit and I had the opportunity to check into to new Ritz Carlton Hotel. The second I stepped through the door the customer service began, everyone was so polite, kind and accommodating. The lovely lady at the front desk upgraded me to a junior suite because my room was not ready.

What I enjoyed about my room was that it was huge and felt very comfortable. I think the perception of the Ritz Carlton chain is that it caters to an older clientele based on its aesthetic. I can’t say that I am in love with the decor but I have to appreciate its heritage as a Hotel Chain.

Everyday at 6pm they have a “Guacamologist” (master in guacamole) in the lobby serving free guacamole and drinks which I think is such a great touch. My homie Chester got upgraded to the club suite on the 7 floor which means he had access to free wifi, food and drinks all day long. If you just wanted to relax at the Ritz you could have spent time in the spa or in the outdoor heated pool.

The most remarkable thing about the hotel was the superb customer service!

I am definitely staying there on my next visit to Dallas.

I love traveling to New York city because of the Hotel selection. A couple months ago I had the pleasure of staying at the Muse Hotel and I have the say how impressed I was with this boutique hotel. I felt right at home in this cozy hotel ambiance. When I’m only spending 1 night in a hotel it is really hard to experience all of the amenities but I have to say that this Hotel ended up being really cool. I would recommend this hotel for a quick trip in and out of NYC.

A couple weeks ago I was invited down to Pratt University as a guest speaker and a friend of mine put me up at the Ace Hotel in NYC. I remember going to the ACE hotel for a special espresso with my friend Jason Thome from Converse, I always wanted to stay at the Ace since that visit. The hotel lobby is pretty sick!

The hotel was nice but the rooms were extremely small even by NYC standards. A couple cool things made the room a bit unique but I can’t say my experience was great. My TV was not working, the bathroom was not inviting if you know what I mean. I’ve always heard great things about the Ace Hotel but it did not live up to my expectations.

Room service was great but very expensive for the actually items.

I would give this hotel a second chance if I had to.

If the Trump Soho’s  not luxury then I really don’t know what is…

A few months back I had the pleasure of staying there when Nike put me up for a few days. The rooms were furnished by FENDI which is such a nice touch. The rooms were a lot more spacious than an average New York City room. Even the bathroom has elements of luxury all the way down to the pipping. I took so many pictures of the room hence the 30 plus pictures in this post. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff was really polite and the service was great. I slept like a king for 5 nights, it was magical.
