Gadgets: Metabones Speed Booster

February 26th, 2013

The Metabones Speed Booster is an adapter that allows for a full-frame lens to be mounted on APS-C or Micro Four-Thirds mirrorless cameras, which reduces the focal length by a factor of 0.71x and increases maximum aperture by 1 stop. What this does is that it reportedly generates sharper images and a more responsive camera, making it a great solution for photographers who want SLR-quality images without the bulk that comes along with it.

These look so good!  Some headphone companies are making it a point to become the fashion accessory. Teaming up with Harris Tweed for headphones is brilliant in my opinion.  Let’s hope if you get these that your style matches the pair.

Enjoy!

A few weeks ago I was in Miami with Microsoft and I got introduced to so many new and exciting things from the brand. One thing in particular was their new lineup of phones. I’ve had a chance to play around with it for a few weeks and I have to say that love it. Let me explain why.

1. 16 Megapixel Camera ( Do I have to say more?)
2. Voice Recognition – Use your voice to text or call people, start apps or search the web.
3. Local Scout – Find nearby restaurants, shops and things to do right from a button on your phone.
4. Translate any text to your language of choice from one touch on your phone. (Great for travellers)
5. Maps- I’ve never used a more comprehensive map on any other device, even a car navigation systems.

I love a lot more things about the phone but I just wanted to share the ones that I use all the time.

The folks at DELL gifted me with a brand new Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook and it is very sexy. The laptop is very light is about the size of a 15 inch macbook air. I had the chance to play around with the device and I like it. A few details I like is the gorilla screen which protects it from shattering and the carbon fiber detailing. I gave some of my peers the chance to play around with the device at the launch event at the W hotel in Montreal.
