I love these! The silhouette is clean, the approach is minimal and the all black is classic. These will hit speciality retailers and of course 21 Mercer later this year. The Nike Hachi Supreme is definitely on the watch list for 2012.

When we were in Japan a few months ago, we met up with Jey & Fujie from Bedwin & The Heartbreakers and they showed us their latest collection which included some great collaborations. Jey & Fujie surprised us and sent us out their latest collaboration with Converse Japan, which are pretty dope. I had a chance to pick them up when I was in NYC last week. These are really fresh!

Footwear: Barbour x Rockport – Breaktrail Crap Toe (Day & Night Collection)

I love the way this boot turned out, Rockport and Barbour have teamed up to deliver this Breaktrail crap toe boot. This boot is part of the Day & Night Collection. There are several other styles but this one was my favorite.

This season, Rockport is proud to collaborate with Barbour on this limited edition collection. We’ve taken inspiration from Barbour to inform our design and then added adiPRENE® by adidas to create a stylish yet completely walkable shoe. For this special collection we used suede leather from CF Stead, one of the most respected tanners of suede leather in the world. This week I received some new boots and kicks from my homies over at Kr3w. I first saw the Jefferson Boot when Oli from Bruxe was rocking them, they were super dope! I happy I was able to get my hands on a pair. The second pair of kicks are just some clean all black shoes called the Franklin.

Packaging and product has always been an obsession of mine so yesterday when I received this package from my friends at DC, I was blown away. This package is 1 of 7 and I am fortunate to be on the short list of people to receive it.

NVRBRKN. is a concept about the will and determination to overcome adversity both mentally and physically.

The broken star logo is a reinterpretation of the 7 point star within the DC Shoes logo. It’s a visual representation of a competitive attitude maintaining its original form despite the fracture of one of its points. The primary word mark logo is a stylized short name consisting of the consonants taken from the two words “never broken” combined into one seven-letter word designed to support the DCSHOES 7-point DNA.

We chose glass as our material muse to conceptually symbolize that we are just as fragile yet very strong at the same time by design.

Yes, we are fragile by nature, but quitting is not part of our DNA!

We decided to think inside the box as an alternative to the traditional trophy. The result was to make only 7 of these individually numbered unique glass boxes with a custom ‘not for sale’ color way of the NVRBRKN. BOOST shoe to match. Seven individuals will be awarded a box for their NVRBRKN. approach to what they do in their areas of expertise.

What do you look for in a boot? I’m finding myself more interested in “off” colours this season. I think Ronnie did a great job on these limited edition Chippewa’s. This is not your typical color you would wear in a boot and I think that’s why I like it. I bet you after a couple of wears these would look awesome.

Footwear: Dunderdon x Danner Gothenburg MTN LT Boots Fall 2011

What is it about hiking boots? Maybe it is the ruggedness, the comfort and the functionality? This week I got a pair of the new Fall 2011 Danner x Dunderdon Gothenburg MTN LT boots and they are very beautiful. You guys seemed to like them as well when I posted the preview on instagram. I have to admit that gray and red mixed together happens to be 1 of my favorite color combinations so these boots win merely on color and we haven’t even talked specs yet. These Danner boots are Gore-Tex which means they are 100% waterproof, they have vibram Christy soles and they are handcrafted stitchdown construction made in the USA. I think all those characteristics make for a deadly combination.

Footwear: Sebago x Filson Fall 2011 Boots

A special package showed up in the mail today and it was from my friends at Sebago. They sent over some new boots from their latest collaboration with Filson. I profiled the boots a few months back, but now I finally have pairs of my own to take a test drive.

The first pair is the chukka which I love a lot. The knight is a beautifully crafted boot that will get a lot of play in my rotation. The second is the Kettle which is a higher pair of boots which are very nice. All I am missing is the Filson duffle bag and I am good to go.

It’s great when 2 iconic brands can come together and create beautiful product.

I was kind of stoke to get these Today. All my peers have been wearing Free’s for a long time and I got my first taste when I went to Portland. Now I am hooked!

These are 3M reflective and are water repellant. I love when fashion and style meet function.

Today, Converse Inc. announces the launch of the Kicks Hawaii for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoe for Holiday 2011.

This limited edition shoe marks Converse’s third collaboration with Kicks Hawaii, one of the world’s premier sneaker boutiques. This special tiger camouflage version of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe also marks the boutique’s 10th anniversary.

“While the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe began on the basketball court, it has evolved to symbolize cultural independence and authentic street style. Kicks Hawaii represents this too, with a uniquely Hawaiian approach”, says Magnus Wedhammer, General Manager of Converse Premium and First String. “We congratulate Kicks Hawaii and are excited to celebrate their 10th anniversary with the debut of this shoe.”

A fitting collaborator for the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe, Kicks Hawaii embraces art, sport and music and is also known for cutting-edge graphics and a uniquely Hawaiian approach to everything they do. A recurring motif since the boutique opened, the tiger shark which is native to the waters of the islands, is featured in the store’s logo. For their anniversary collaboration, Kicks Hawaii chose to subtly reference the tiger shark by using a special tiger camouflage pattern to adorn the upper of the shoe.

“We wanted to pay homage to the iconic nature of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe, and left the silhouette intact, but we also wanted to give a nod to Kicks Hawaii’s history. We loved the look of this tiger camo and felt it was a nice nod to the Kicks Hawaii tiger shark mascot”, says Eddy Haus, co-Founder of Kicks Hawaii.

The shoe’s olive, tan and brown tiger camouflage pattern is pin-point laser-printed on the upper, tongue and toe cap. Keeping the design clean, Kicks Hawaii uses traditional white Chuck Taylor All Star rubber sidewalls, yet with a fresh, subtle pop of orange on the shoe’s outsole, lining and on a triangle of leather gracing the left shoe’s tongue.
