The transparent design lets the speaker blend in to any living room out there. The size can be big enough to offer a good sound quality, yet the speaker takes little visible space. The box is transparent, but the sound creating components are clearly emphasized.

Usability
The speakers come with a small wifi antenna, that can plug in to any computer, music player or smart phone out there. It will also work for old stereos or vinyl equipment. The aim is to set the music free regardless where it’s stored. ”

JOYA ARMY CANDLE PROJECT: LIMITED EDITION FALL / HOLIDAY 2011 LAUNCH

NEW YORK (October 2011) – Joya, the New-York based fragrance design studio, is releasing the Army Candle Project, a striking double-candle housed in vintage British Army soap dishes marked 1945.

Two scents are poured in a natural soy wax blend: Dawn (Amber Absolute) and Dusk (Bitter Orange Leaf). The candles are packaged in British DPM camouflage that has been tailored by hand in the size of a traditional handkerchief. This can be used as a coaster for the metal candle, which may become hot while lit. Finally, the item is wrapped in olive green paracord—a simple, practical gesture reminiscent of Japanese packaging. Only 100 have been produced, and each fabric wrap is stamped and numbered.

Founded in 2004 by Frederick Bouchardy, Joya is a pioneer in modern fragrance, offering innovating parfums, personal care and home ambiance under their own label, as well as engaging emerging and established artists and brands for unique, collaborative projects.

I’m always a bit excited when Joya releases a new product. I became a true fan of the company a couple seasons ago when I met them in Vegas at the PROJECT show. They recently teamed up with my friends at the Blind Barber on some amazing candles.

They are now releasing an Eau de Parfum with fragrance company DS & Durga. The packaging looks awesome and I’m sure it smells great.

I think it is cool to see two fragrance companies collaborate to make one great product.

JOYA, the fine fragrance, personal care and home ambiance pioneer, and D.S. & Durga, the ambitious American perfumery crafting small batch fragrances of premium-sourced ingredients, team up to produce a limited distribution EDP.

At the start of 2011, Brooklyn-based friends and neighbors JOYA and D.S. & Durga set off to create an unusual collaboration between two fragrance brands. The final product—Staghorn Sumac—represents an amalgamation of the young companies’ expertise in fragrance and design. An initial batch of 100 37ml perfumes in glass bottles with porcelain accents have been produced and packaged in deadstock fabric with numbered cloth labels.

David Seth Moltz, the “nose” behind D.S. & Durga and Staghorn Sumac, describes the scent as part of “a botanical and historical survey of the Great Plains, its people and its wild plants. With this scent, I wanted to shed light on America’s rich botanical history.”

JOYA FvsS: Parfums designer Sarah Cihat called the collaborative process “very involved,” with each member of the four person team—D.S. Moltz, Kavi Moltz, Cihat and Frederick Bouchardy—weighing in on each aspect of the item: fragrance profile, bottle and cap design, and outer packaging and graphic design.

Staghorn Sumac officially launches Thursday, September 8, for Fashion’s Night Out at In God We Trust in New York City, FSC Barber locations in New York City’s West Village and Lower East Side and San Francisco, and on www.joyastudio.com/shop, www.dsanddurga.com, andwww.beautyhabit.com. Staghorn Sumac will roll out to select, additional boutiques worldwide this fall and holiday.

My friends at the BB gave me this special gift when I saw them out in NYC. The smell is extraordinary and I can’t wait to burn these! Love seeing two great brands collaborate.

The Blind Barber, worked closely with JOYA, the creative collective that specializes in artisanal candles and fragrances, to bring their vision to life.

“When we were designing the scent of the candle we envisioned walking into our barber shop and being hit with the clean smell of fresh towels,” said Laub.  The candles, which feature soy wax and are hand-poured in New York City, also have key notes of Honey, Smoke, Leather and Lavender, each chosen because of their special connection to the barber shop.

Honey – Derived from the sweet smell of whiskey you get as the glass reaches your mouth. (Each service at the Blind Barber comes with a complimentary cocktail.)

Smoke – A slight hint of smoke is reminiscent of the lingering smell of smoke from jackets hung on the coat rack.

Leather – The element of leather is a reminder of the way barbers used to sharpen their razor right before they shaved a man’s beard.

Lavender – A signature finishing touch to all of the Blind Barber shaves.  The essential oil is used to instill a sense of calm after a shave.

The notes are eclectic yet fit perfectly together; just like the candle’s namesake Tompkins Square Park as well as the East Village where the Blind Barber is located.

The candles are midnight blue and are housed in “Barbicide” jars, the iconic, stainless steel and molded glass jars used by barbers everywhere.  Available in two sizes:  Small (6.2 oz) and Large (23.6 oz), the candles will retail for $32.00 and $88.00 respectively.

The Blind Barber Tompkins Candles will be available at the Blind Barber, VANE Concept Store located at 125 Rivington Street.

I’m thinking of starting my very own bike collection from of high-end luxury car manufacturers.

The Luxury Suv maker Land Rover will coming out with  the Range Rover Road Bike.

The bike looks really clean… I hope to be pulling this out of my Range one day.
