I told Ouigi Theodor (the bearded man) from The Brooklyn Circus that I have a weak heart! What I meant was that good energy excites me and It could possible cause me heart failure. Looking trough his racks here at The Project Show, I discovered this unbelievable piece, a Varsity Vest. He told me he will call it the MT Varsity Vest due to my excitement. What an honor that would be. Hopefully you will see some beautiful things from us in the future.

Ouigi Theodor himself sporting the soon to be released Holiday Piece, The Varsity (MT) Vest.

sidenote: I heard Ouigi speak today at the morning breakfast series and he touched upon a lot of things that I love to speak about, for one creating your own outlet and documenting the process. He is truly and inspiration and intelligent human being.

please share your thoughts!

I stopped by the G-Star booth to see my homegirl Ida who had some great product to show me, unfortunately I can’t show you everything but I selected some really nice pieces that I’m looking forward to wearing come spring 11. Here you have this denim shirt from the Raw Essentials program, it is called the Essential Tacoma in a soda wash. How nice is this piece?

These CB General 5620 pants tapered in Nomad are really dope! I love these. The details on these garments are superb, don’t sleep on G-Star my boy Malcolm always told me that they had the best denim in the game.

I want this book for my house! Crazy denim imagery from their archives!

Thanks IDA!

Here you have the Matzu Hooded Sports Coat which I am in love with. You might be hard pressed to find this jacket anywhere because it is currently sold out of most stores. This is such a classic raincoat but with an NSW twist which makes it just amazing. Nike added the Storm-Fit 20 fabric technology and they taped up the seams to make it fully waterproof.

CONNY denim jacket and BIG BENGT
in 13,25 oz Dry Red Selvage denim. The
fabric has a right hand construction with
slubby yarn and a tight weaving. For an
authentic vintage look the weft has a
beige shade. In the good old days the cotton
wasn’t as clean as it is today.

The LAB CASSIUS shirt is made of
100% selvage cotton fabric. But the dry
and slubby structure makes you think of
linen. The selvage edge is visible inside
of placket and cuff and at the edge of the
chest pocket. Straight fit, simple cut.

The EASY EMIL LAB 28 is made of the
same Dry Red Selvage fabric as BIG
BENGT. Washed and treated
by a small team of laundry specialists in
Italy. Selvage edge coin pocket and silver
trims.

I had a chance to see the full fall 2010 collection of Nudie and I have to say I was very impressed! You guys are going to love it.

“The fall/winter 2010 collection contains more Japanese made garments than ever. In the Dry Selvage programme the 13,25 oz Dry Red Selvage has been a household fabric since the company started. The rope dyed Dry Red Selvage has been dipped 13 times in pure indigo on top of sulphur to create a unique green cast.

The Nudie Jeans Selvage LAB offers top of the line denims made into jeans, jackets and shirts. All with hand made washes and treatments. From Japan we also get fantastic shirt fabrics and we offer four styles for fall/winter. We
also use Japanese denim to make smart bags and wallets.”

This post is only for the people who understand heritage and appreciate quality! I stumbled upon a stash of Vintage Lambskin A-2 Avirex Flight jackets and I lost my mind and bought all the stock. The reason I purchased all the stock is because I know my friends will want some and I know some of my readers will want some. I only have a few left ( my crew came first) If you’re interested in getting one, hit the button at the bottom.

Here you have this Vintage Avirex Type A-2 Lambskin flight jacket, this jacket is very dope! Remember when Avirex jackets were the hottest thing in the market place? What I love about this jacket, is that there are no logo’s and the fit is just classic. The markings on the inside say 2001 so I guess these are from the 2001 production made in the USA which is amazing.

In jackets I usually wear a medium to a large, but in this jacket I purchased a small, because I wanted it to fit snug and close. I’m 6″ and weight about 175 lbs.

Don’t be shy! If you want one, make that move or hit me if you have any more questions.

I was cruising trough the pages today and I came across these Vintage Edwin Jeans with suspenders. These are a 13 oz Japanese Selvage denim, produced on shuttle weaving machines, the two elements combining to create a feeling of old fabric. I’ve always been a fan of Edwin jeans, they always had that authentic feel to them. Since menswear seems to be trending right now I can see a whole lot of people wearing these with suspenders. I’ve been wearing pants with suspenders as of late and I have to say it looks dope. I would love to see a pair of these in person.

The History:

Established in Japan 1947

Mr Tsunemi had a passion for denim, which inspired him to import them directly from the United States as no denim was manufactured in Japan at that time.
Used, worn-out and dirty denim which had to be laundered and mended by hand in order to sell on to his customers.

In 1951 domestically manufactured denim was available for the first time in Japan. This product was expensive and of inferior quality compared to its American counterparts.

Mr Tsumeni was driven to create his own denims, with greater sophistication in fits, washes and quality.
From this point on in Edwin denim history, quality, craftsmanship, innovation and integrity have been paramount to the ethos and aesthetic for the brand.

In 1961 Mr. Tsunemi crafted the first pair of Edwin denim jeans.

Utilising the letters D, E, N, I & M (reversing the M creating a W) he created the brand name ‘Edwin’.

By 1963 Edwin had produced the world’s heaviest ringspun denim jean (16oz), featuring the famous three-colour rainbow selvedge, which is still being used today.

In the 1970’s Edwin were the first company in the world to develop ‘old wash’ designed to replicate denim which have been worn from its rigid, unwashed state traditionally designed for workwear due to its durability.

In the 1980’s Edwin invented ‘stone washing’ which revolutionised the entire denim industry and was a pivotal moment in the evolution of denim manufacturing, thus influencing, every denim company in existence today.

In the 1990’s Edwin created the ‘new vintage’ denim concept, which encompasses the subtle beauty of hand replicating vintage washes from archive references pre-dating 1947.

Edwin is an authentic denim brand priding itself on innovation and craftsmanship, utilising exclusive fabrics and fabrication, unique technology, hand wash processes, and continual progression in design and fit.
