We spent an evening in Toronto with Huawei to celebrate the launch of their NOVA Plus, one of their newest smartphones coming to the market. It is a mid-tier device that aims to provide value packed within a luxurious, all-metal body. The event was held at the massive Muzik Club space, where we enjoyed cocktails that looked like they were out of this world. This was all thanks Toronto’s own, BarChef, who used ingredients that gave the drinks an outer space-like vibe. Throughout the night, guests could experience the phone first hand and some lucky ones had won the NOVA Plus for themselves!

We had the opportunity to attend a book signing with the famous Canadian astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield. He was signing one of his best sellers “An Astronauts Guide To Life”, a book that unconventionally teaches you to embrace the negative, to always prepare for the worst, rather than to approach a situation with optimism. This was a philosophy he adopted during his time at NASA and aboard the International Space Station. Later on, Mr. Hadfield had stepped on stage and told us with such vigour and enthusiasm, what it was like to be in a rocket as it launched towards space. Then he picked up his guitar and sang the songs he wrote during his time at the Space Station.

For those of you interested in the device, the NOVA Plus is available now at Rogers, Virgin Mobile and Fido.
