If you get a chance pick up the new issue of Complex Magazine which is on newsstands today, you will see a handsome dashing young man styled in Louis Vuitton. I’m joking about the handsome young man thing, but I am very proud to be featured in this issue! If you guys could only see the jacket I had on, OMG! It is crazy.
Thanks for the continued support, I love you guys.

The weather is cooling and the ridiculously wealthy/spoiled are back from their beach houses to clog up brunch spots, so you know it’s time to start thinking about your fall wardrobe. To prepare for one of our favorite seasons, Complex presents a trend preview that includes trench coats, black leather, corduroy, and wholly monochromatic ensembles, among others. We teamed up with six online arbiters of style and design—Sean Sullivan (the impossible cool.), Marcus Troy, Myles Henry Tipley (MYLESHENRYBLOG), Justin R. Saunders (jjjjound), Phillip Annand (The Madbury Club), and William Yan—and asked them to step out from behind their laptops to showcase the looks. Not only does each gentleman embody a different trend, but we’ve also collaborated with them for exclusive content inspired by their respective sites. So stay tuned for those, but in the meantime, just peep the feature (and the future!) already… via Complex
The Nexus Team- Ronnie Fieg Marcus Troy, Josh Kissi, Travis Gumbs, Greg Weinstein of Cultureshoq, William Yan,
Last Thursday night we celebrated the release of the Sebago Nexus Project, the Marcus Troy x Ronnie Fieg selection. The party was super dope and a lot of friends, family & co-workers came out to support. It was really dope to see this all come together.
I decided to rock a Burberry shirt that I bought about 9 years ago, a vintage Members Only jacket I bought in LA about 5 years ago. I obviously wore the Buffalo Leather and red Sebago’s to match my outfit. That night I was inspired by vintage & luxury.
Last week Thursday we held down a party for the launch of The Sebago Nexus Project in New York city. I got a bit creative and decided to shoot some of the special guest behind a blue wall and light. The effect came out kind of dope! Shout out to all of the guest who came trough and participated in my lighting experience.
I am very pleased to announce the Sebago Nexus Project presented by Ronnie Fieg.
I was a part of a great team who spent 5 days on the beautiful Island of the Dominican Republic. What we were able to accomplish was truly magical. We got our hands dirty with the magnificent Sebago team to produce a limited run of shoes dubbed The Sebago Nexus Project. The Nexus Project is presented by Ronnie Fieg who put together a team of 5 bloggers who he admires to help bring this idea to fruition. I had the pleasure of working with Ronnie Fieg, Joshua Kissi, William Yan, Greg Weinstein, Jake Davis and the incredible DP Jim Larer.
I believe all the shoes came out incredible and I can’t wait to show you guys! I hope you guys like them as much as I do.
Ten shoe designs. Five bloggers. One never before seen, done, or even attempted collection. The Nexus Project breaks all the rules and redefines what collaboration means. Wanting to create a collection that not only steps it up but also stands out, Sebago® called on one of the most innovative thinkers in the footwear industry around. Ronnie Fieg. A footwear designer and Sebago enthusiast, Fieg in turn reached out to the fashion-forward blogosphere and recruited some of today’s hottest lifestyle bloggers. Greg Weinstein. William Yan. Joshua Kissi & Travis Gumbs. Marcus Troy. Jake Davis. Each serving up a different energy and perspective that’s given the Nexus Project more bang than the Internet has blogs. Led by Fieg, each blogger designed two shoes that represented their own style ethos. The only mandates? Use the best materials available and honor Sebago’s long-loved heritage of authentic craftsmanship. Given the shoemaker’s 60+ year legacy and tenacious dedication to handcrafted perfection, nothing less was acceptable. Thankfully, after visiting the Sebago factory for a hands-on crash course by master cobblers, it wasn’t hard to live up to the Sebago standard. The results? A collection that not only celebrates Sebago’s New England roots, but also underscores our commitment to bring innovative, nautically-inspired footwear to those who love style and value uncommon quality. All of which helps further the reputation of our time-honored traditions.
Handmade in limited quantities of just forty-eight pairs each, only 480 style seekers will ever enjoy what can very well be the finest collaborative collection we’ve ever produced. Authentic. Inspiring. Groundbreaking. Courtesy of Sebago, Ronnie Fieg, and some fiercely talented tastemakers.
My friend William Yan who is notoriously known around New York City for shooting everyone from Kanye West, Amber Rose, Kid Cudi, Fashion designers and well know photographers took some time to shoot me for his Street Style segment on his blog! It was raining cats & dogs outside and we figured it would make for a great shot and guess what it did!
Visit his blog here to see the rest of the Street Style shot.
This is a super exciting project that I am a part of, I’m getting so amped to see it come to fruition. We’ve been keeping this project under wraps for so long and it is great to see some information about it come out bits at a time. This is a quick preview of what went down at the Sebago offices in the Dominican Republic.

SEBAGO® COLLABORATES WITH RONNIE FIEG TO INTRODUCE “THE NEXUS PROJECT”
Power Bloggers and Ronnie Fieg Work with Sebago to Design a Series of Custom Docksides, Lighthouse and other Nexus Styles
ROCKFORD, Mich. (June 2010) — Over a span of months and a collaborative spirit, David Z’s Ronnie Fieg along with a select group of power bloggers, teamed with Sebago to design a series of ten custom Sebago shoes to form “The Nexus Project”. Fieg and some of the most influential bloggers including Marcus Troy, Jake Davis, Greg Weinstein of Culture Shoq, William Yan, and Joshua Kissi of Street Etiquette experienced a complete immersion at Sebago’s Dominican Republic Facility to create this ultimate collaborative Sebago collection. Designs include individual takes on the Docksides, Lighthouse boot as well as other exclusive Nexus styles.
“Ronnie has a well-known history of putting together great collaborations,” said Gary Malamet, Sebago’s general manager. “We’ve worked with him many times in the past with success. When he came to us with this project, we knew we had a chance to develop something completely fresh. In this day of collaborations, and the unstoppable power of blogs, we felt the combination of the two was unprecedented”.
Sebago worked with the bloggers and Fieg and took them to the manufacturing plant in the Dominican Republic, bringing in representatives of some of the world’s best tanneries and various suppliers to pore through leathers, colors, finish details and more to select materials for each custom shoe. Each participant in turn went through the process of creating their shoe by hand with the team of master craftsmen at Sebago. Processes included soaking and heating the leathers and finally stitching the shoes together – a seven hour project for each shoe.
Throughout the summer of 2010, a limited run of 48 pairs will be created of each Nexus style. The shoes will be available exclusively at David Z’s flagship store in New York as well as davidz.com. Bloggers will each bring their own angle and story to their blogs to communicate the Nexus Project. The entire collaboration was filmed by Jake Davis on location in the Dominican Republic. Each blogger will have their own trailer that can be seen on their respective websites. Please make sure to check out each bloggers trailer throughout the release of this project: www.ronniefieg.com, www.marcustroy.com, www.jakedavis.com,www.williamyan.com, www.streetetiquette.com, www.cultureshoq.com.

“Leica recently launched a new initiative titled CITIES.PEOPLE.PERSPECTIVES which brings together a variety of photographic authors from around the globe. The goal of the project is to offer a look into the respective city and travels of the people involved. The concept is to provide a visual experience beyond the trite postcard imagery we are so often encounter. The site is integrated with Google Maps so you can get a better understanding of exactly where each shot took place. The list of photographers include William Yan, Sevada A. & Philipp S., Anh Phan, Nii Obodai, TK and Tomohiro Fujii. The site will be updated on a regular basis and can be seen here.“
