My Thoughts: Become Undeniable

August 30th, 2010

Concentrate, focus and invest your time and energy to becoming undeniable, everything else will fall into place. If you work on being the best at what you do, it will be very hard for anyone to deny you anything. If you become the best candidate for a given position, how can anyone deny you?

Usually the people who deny you are the people you perceive to have the power.

Imagine if everything you did or attempted to do, you did it like it was the last thing you were ever going to accomplish, how undeniable would you be?

Too many times we just half ass things and scream foul when things don’t go our way. When you are undeniable and the people you perceive to have power decide not to give you that chance, then you can chalk it up to hate. Until then I suggest that you work on becoming undeniable.

Becoming undeniable might just boil down to a matter of opinion but I think it is more than just that, I think you have to know in your heart of hearts that what you do is the best and no one can deny it even if they tried.

The other day on twitter I asked people to send me their best songs, the work that they were the most proud of. To be honest a lot of the songs I received were mediocre. I am not trying to insult or deny anyone but it’s impossible that some of these people really felt like they submitted their best work. I’m no musical expert but I do however know the basics of composition, flow, sound, production and delivery and some of the songs just weren’t up to par.

When did subpar become the standard? My father always told me it starts with the parents. For example when kids bring home their art from school and their parents praise the work like its the next Picasso but the work itself isn’t good at all, it creates a false sense of accomplishment in the child’s mind. I guess parents don’t really want to hurt their child’s feelings so they just praised them instead. How does this child grow up? Does he decide to work to becoming undeniable, or does he just feel that everything he does is amazing?

I guess that’s why there are so many horrible singers who try out for American Idol. It feels like too many people have encouraged them by making them believe that they are amazing but in fact they are not. “ My mother told me I have a beautiful voice” ha!

When you feel denied by a blogger for post on his or her site, or a magazine, a job, a position, school, don’t give up I suggest you work harder at becoming undeniable.

Don’t be like so many and just chalk it up to hate, you have to know in your heart of hearts that what you did or trying to do is the best of all times!

Since 1825, the Clarks name has been synonymous with heritage and quality. Our partnership with the brand extends beyond just selling shoes and with that we are proud to present our newest collaborative effort, the CNCPTS Weaver boot. The Weaver is one of many iconic styles in the Clarks’ archive and is the cousin to the ever popular Wallabee. Our collaboration will mark the first time the boot version of the Weaver will be available in the States in over a decade.

Our CNCPTS version styles the boot in a premium unlined waxed Italian suede on the moccasin construction and is offered in 2 colors, Piombu Grey and Torba Brown, and includes a leather lined foot bed with embossed branding. You will also find the Concepts “Double C” logo featured on the tongue and our abbreviated branding CNCPTS located on the lower outside heel.

My Thoughts: Your Team

August 26th, 2010

We all know the popular phrase there is no I in Team but as much as a team can help you win they can also help you lose.

I’ve seen people who’ve had the potential to be great, fail because of who they had on their team.

The easiest way for this to happen is when you have people on your team misrepresenting you in public, sometimes this happens without your knowledge. They think they are doing you a favor but in reality they are doing you a disservice. Whether they’re trying to secure deals for you that you would not authorize, committing to things that you wouldn’t approve  of or simply just being the wrong person you need speaking on your behalf.

A lot of business deals have gone down the drain because of who was on someone’s team. A lot of my peers won’t do business with someone unless they know exactly who is on a team. When you are young and naïve you might not think about who needs to be on your team, you usually just roll with the people you’ve been around with your whole life. Sometimes you have to switch it up and strategically decide who you want to be around you, especially if you want to be successful.

The latest example I can share with you guys is about this artist who has great potential to make it but his team is hurting him beyond belief without him even knowing it. The guys he hangs around with want him to win so bad that they are aggressively pushing and bombarding everyone with the artists work. People are really starting to get fed up with these tactics so they are starting to hate said artist. The artist never really did any wrong  except have a bad team representing him. People always end up hating the product not the sales guy.

A team can be the guys you hang around with, your family members, the people you choose to do business with it or just the people others perceive to be down with you.

Remember that scene in Carlito’s way when Carlito’s nephew was out in the streets misrepresenting by saying how Carlito wanted to get back into the game, but it was not true? Well we all know how that scene ended…

So I suggest you be careful who you have pushing for you, which people you keep in your corner, and who you have representing you in the streets. It can really make the big difference in your life.
