Today I got these Oliberté Adibo chukkas and they are pretty fresh! A few things that caught my attention was the suppleness and rich feel of the material. These shoes are made in Africa which also makes them a bit special to me. I like these a lot and I can’t wait to wear them! Ronnie has been raving about these for a while and I finally know what he was talking about, thanks.

The ADIBO is Oliberté’s version of the classic desert boot. With premium leather from Ethiopia that covers your ankle, this boot is lined inside with soft goat leather. For the outsole, we recycled crepe rubber, into something we like to call “the grill.”

When I was in NYC I received a pair of Danner Mountain Light II boots and they are really amazing! The qualities that I love are 1 the comfort, 2. the construction and 3. the functionality. They are Goretex  (I love Goretex anything) which means that they are fully waterproof.

This weekend I stayed at the Roger Williams hotel on Madison avenue in New York city and I have to say it is 1 of the most spacious hotel’s I’ve stayed in, around NYC

The Subway was within a 5 minute walk, which is very convenient. The Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very roomy and comfortable. The one thing I did not like was the small bathroom. The internet was free which is amazing and hard to find in NYC. The one thing that surprised me was the $18 service charge I got hit with at the end of my stay, make sure to inquire about that. I really enjoyed the postie on the wall, offering me a free beverage…I did not use it but I appreciated the gesture.

Atmosphere: Quiet

Staff: Super polite and friendly

Average room price: $140/plus taxes

Rooms: Very spacious

Beds: Very comfortable

Reviews

Another gem from the RF vault were these 875 Red Wing’s in a rich olive colour. I think you’d be hard pressed to find these anywhere. You have to love Red Wing shoes for their classic styling and heritage appeal. I would love to see these in development one day and I’m sure as I write this, RF has a trick up his sleeve.

What’s more exciting than geeking out over footwear? Well this weekend Ronnie Fieg and I were kind of bugging out on his footwear collection he had stashed in another room. We were pulling out gems from this crazy room and we just geeked out for a bit. I came across these Merrell Wilderness boots and it was love at first sight.  The craftsmanship behind this Merrell staple is really incredible, they have been running this boot inline for the past 15 years. The Norwegian Welt Construction creates a classic, durable sole that can be resoled. It is full grain waterproof leather with Italian metal hardware. This is such a great item and I believe it to be reasonably priced for its hardcore construction. $250
