So by now you guys all know what went down in NYC last weekend? What was most interesting to me, was the choice of garb everyone showed up with. We all got together Sunday morning for a photo shoot and to my knowledge no one spoke to each other prior to coordinate looks or outfits. We just all showed up in our own clothes and did the damn thing. What was most interesting to me, is that everyone was on point in terms of dress, even though we all had our own personal style, we all somehow fit the current description of what is trendy at the moment. Cardigans, plaids, trench coat, gloves, greys, scarves, it felt like we were all ready for a Complex shoot with Anoma.

In this post I just want to breakdown some of the elements I liked from my peers outfit

Ronnie’s scarf was kind of crazy! It was a head piece and a scarf all in one. His jacket by Public School was nuts, very old school looking with leather studded gloves attached to it with zippers. He had on a fresh Public School sweater that  was quilted at  the top and kind of looked like a Dashiki. The gloves were killer though!

Emeka’s outfit looked simple but was put together masterfuly. He was wearing these fresh 10Deep pants that had a plaid cuff when rolled up. His choice of layering was dope, he had a denim coat over a military sweater with metal engraved buttons and a woven shirt. The sweater was incredible and the button detail was sick.

Sean came trough looking like a rap star, black Public School hooded leather jacket with a belt going trough the hood.(insane) He decided to break out the Louis Vuitton Evidence shades, grey crew neck, black denim and a long navy scarf, he actually showed up to the shoot in white Raf Simons, which are always fresh.

Irv style was so classy, simple and very fresh…The toggle cardigan was killer over the woven shirt. The light grey pants were a nice compliment to the look. I really love fall, because you get to pull out all the stops. Irv was actually wearing burgundy vans wingtips to the shoot, which were really nice.

I guess my style was the most dressy out of the bunch, I had on a tie by Canterbury of New Zealand, a shirt by Hugo Boss, A jacket by KILLA, Watch by TX, Hat by Ransom.

Your already saw my style breakdown of Joshua and Niyah…

The NSW line has to be one of my favorite lines, it is so consistent. Here you have this amazing duffle coat called The Bench Jacket, the outer shell is wool with 90% goose down/10% feather fill.

You know what? This jacket is simply amazing!

Subject: Yano

The Why: Yano stands out all on his own! He is about 6’4 and has a connoisseurs moustache. I always liked Yano’s style, the duffle coat over the blazer and the light colored jeans is a pretty fresh look. I’m really liking light colored jeans these days. The yellow tee just made the whole outfit pop.

The items: I really liked the shoes they were 2 toned and made by Adidas.

Your thougths?

Subject: Chris Lee

The Why: Chris’s look is very street and fresh. The simple varsity jacket and toggle sweater is super dope. (from H&M) The brown sneakers really throws off the colours which makes the outfit stand out. If you are rocking a street look, a backpack is part of the outfit…you have everything on the go.

The Items: The Vans Vault sneakers really stood out to me, I love the red laces and rugged field. I could not believe that the jacket was from H&M. It was really nice!

Subject: Rachel

The Why: Rachel looked really dope in this military femme fatale or murder mami look. The high waist khakis tucked into wool socks and the over-sized military coat. Very chill but dope.

The Items: I was really feeling the head piece, I remember Andre 3000 wearing one of these in the Atlien video. The suede booties also stood out, it really completed the outfit.

Subject: Joshua Kissi of Street Etiquette – Keep in mind that the Guardian named him a internet Style Icon

The Why: I always found Joshua’s style to be seamless and so well put together. Everything fits so well, you would sear everything is tailored made. His choice of layering is also very key.

The Items: The items that got my attention were the jacket and the gloves. I love jackets, especially 3/4 ones that are black. The finger gloves are just cool, I had them when I was younger and I think I might bring them back.

The Ice Cream was so good at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, that I went again and I brought some people with me! I sold the place so hard that I was nervous if my people were going to like it as much as I did.

IMG_0411

Taste testing was limited to 2 spoons per client. ( remember that episode of Curb your enthusiasm?) Never mind…

IMG_0416

Everyone was amazed or intrigued by all the flavors…  You can see the excitement in Yano’s eyes.

IMG_0419

Tommy(Alife) figured out where the place was on his Blackberry…we had no idea we were so close.

IMG_0420

Saint (GFCNY) deciding on which flavor to go with…I think he went with the Lychee. I think he was disappointed that they were sold out of the red velvet cake that I was raving about all night.

I don’t even remember if I had any…oh yeah, I had plain ole chocolate ( I needed my fix)

Must visit when you’re in NYC.
