The clouds were coming in strongly but my concert crew and I decided to make our way to the Virgin Music Festival this weekend in Montreal. I got invited as a media guess so it was only right that I made my appearance.

Bacardi Breezer was one of the main sponsors and they had a pretty chill lounge “cottage” area where they were previewing their latest drink. We helped ourselves to a few samples that were pretty good. Thanks Allie for the great hospitality!

Bacardi is doing their part in helping the environment by introducing environmentally friendly plastic bottles for their Breezers. The new flavor that they were launching was Blackberry Lychee and it was very good.

This was my second time eating at Bar 89 on Mercer street in New York and I was not disappointed. I had wings and some sort of lettuce wrap that looked like the stuff I love from Mr. Chows in La. If ever you’re in Nyc, check out Bar 89 for some drinks and good food.

I swear I had this watch when I was a kid and if I didn’t I’m sure I wanted it! The transformer movie is definitely inspiring peoples creativity. I’m sure you can still find this watch on eBay somewhere.

Another trip to the NYC! Every time I land in NYC the 1 song that always comes to mind is the song playing above. If you haven’t pressed play yet make sure you do, before you continue reading. Even though my visits are hardly as gritty as this song, it sure puts me in the right mind frame for NEW YORK CITY!

It was the Puerto Rican Day Parade which was pretty crazy!

img_4975

I had to take a snap of the Trinidadian Flag. My Mom would be happy.

This was a crazy view of the parade.

I was on a rooftop in downtown Manhattan, the view was crazy and the weather was beautiful.

The Obama hype got to me and I had to try Five guys Burger and Fries to see what all the fuss was about. I wanted to see for myself if it was better than In&Out Burger on the West Coast. The verdict is still out…

Man this thing was tasty! Apparently very healthy as well.

News: H&M x Jimmy Choo

June 17th, 2009

According to Reuteurs

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Swedish budget fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz said on Wednesday luxury shoe maker Jimmy Choo Ltd would become the latest in its string of high-profile guest designers.

The world’s third biggest retailer by sales said the collection by Jimmy Choo Ltd, also known for its bags, would be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world.

“This autumn, British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to selected H&M stores,” H&M said in a statement. “It is the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand.”

Malaysia-born Jimmy Choo, who founded the firm together with current Chief Executive Tamara Mellon, became known to many through cosmopolitan U.S. television series Sex and the City that started running in 1998, in which Jimmy Choo’s stilettos were among lead character Carrie’s favorites.

Jimmy Choo left the company in 2001, a H&M spokeswoman said, and sold his share of the business.

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama wore shoes by Jimmy Choo Ltd on her husband’s Inauguration Day.

H&M said the guest line would also include women’s clothing and a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories.

Other fashion greats that have collaborated with H&M include Karl Lagerfeld, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney and Comme des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo.

Their launches have generated frenzied scenes as shoppers sought to buy chic designs at cut-rate prices, and some collections have sold out within minutes.

This weekend I stayed at the 6-Thompson Hotel in New York City, not to be confused with the 60 Thompson in Soho.(my cab took me to the wrong hotel)

My first impression about the hotel was how nice it was. The lobby looked like a living room, very modern and classy. The Staff was very kind and helpful and wanted to know your name, great personal touch. The rooms are small but no different than any other hotel in NYC. It was very clean and nicely designed. The one thing that I loved was the heated bathroom floor, what a great and pleasant surprise. The great thing about the hotel is that it was located right next to the 1, A, B, C, D train. The hotel restaurant, Blue Ribbon, apparently has amazing sushi; unfortunately I did not get a chance to try it out.

There were a couple things that bothered me; I had to call up for an iron and a board, which most rooms usually come equipped with. Due to airport regulations I often forget to bring body lotion and I look forward to using the ones at the hotel, but this time the lotion was missing in action and I had to order one up (not a big deal, I know). The other thing that bothered me was the missing soap holder in the bath! I mean when you’re finished soaping you have to pretty much drop it on the floor, which isn’t a good thing. The sink is a little further than the bath so the other option would be to leave it on the toilet bowl.

Overall the stay was good, and I would recommend this hotel again.

Bonus* wholefoods and starbucks are very close.
